Share your child's CGM data
If your child uses glucose monitoring, we need you to share their CGM data with our team before you fly. It lets their Guide, Group Doctor and the Night Nurse team keep a close eye on their levels through the day and overnight.
To do this, share the data with 3 Dreamflight accounts. They are shown on each step below. If you do not have enough share spaces left, please remove any non-essential shares for the length of the trip. It matters that all 3 Dreamflight accounts can see the data in real time.
As soon as the trip is over, you are free to remove the shares. We will ask your child's Guide to check they have gone once you are back together in the UK.
To keep the data flowing smoothly, and to avoid roaming charges in the USA, the Dreamflight tech team will set up a travel SIM or eSIM on your child's device. It is free of charge, provided by Dreamflight and our tech teams in the USA.
Questions or concerns? Email office@dreamflight.org or talk to your child's Guide or Group Leader.

What to expect
- We will do our best to keep your child's blood sugars well controlled, though many things can affect them. Our main aim is to avoid repeated hypoglycaemic episodes (hypos) and DKA.
- Things that can bring blood sugars down on the trip are hot weather, because insulin is absorbed faster, and lots of activity such as walking and swimming.
- Things that can push blood sugars up are the American diet, excitement, and the adrenaline rush from the rides, which can cause hyperglycaemia.
- We aim to balance these as well as we can. Our medical guides and night nurses will have the relevant apps or blood glucose monitoring systems to review levels and act on them.
- We would recommend that parents do not follow their child's blood glucose levels from home. Without the context of what is happening in Orlando, it can cause stress and worry.
